One to Grow On

Take a look around you, everything you see, hear, taste, feel, and touch is related to science. That is my favorite part about teaching, it gives me an opportunity to explain how the things we observe in our everyday lives are in some way related to science. I grew up in the Bronx, NY and I never in my wildest dreams thought I would become a science teacher. But to my surprise, I ended up following in my parents footsteps, and I became a teacher just like they were. My parents are now retired, and I have picked up where they have left off, providing academic enrichment for students in urban communities. I wouldn't trade my job for the world....I love, love, love, love, teaching and I can't see myself doing anything else for a career. I am looking forward to working with the students in Cullowhee, NC and helping to build community between them and my students at Druid Hills Academy in Charlotte, NC. So lets all keep an open mind during this project, have fun, and learn something new....and that is "One to Grow on".
